SIT Study Abroad - a program of World Learning

Dear Friend,

SIT is pleased to support the 8th Annual Human Development Conference.

This student-run event is sponsored by the Ford Family Program in Human Development Studies and Solidarity and the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame.

Re-Imagining Development:
Pursuing Good in a Changing World

February 26-27, 2016

This conference is a unique opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to showcase their research in an interdisciplinary venue. We encourage you to submit an abstract for consideration. Your proposal must be submitted by Monday, November 9th. Click here to read the call for papers.

Your research and abstract should relate the primary question of the conference: how development paradigms that emphasize agency, inclusivity, and dignity can redefine success and challenge traditional methods in development.

Are you starting your research this month? You are allowed to submit an abstract of your research, but it will be more difficult without having written your findings. But, keep this opportunity in mind for 2017, or consider attending as a participant in 2016.

SIT Study Abroad has supported this conference from its inception, and this year we will be awarding ten $200 scholarships to off-set the cost of travel to the conference. This is a separate proposal with the same November 9, 2015 deadline. To submit a funding request, please send an email containing your full name, home college/university, SIT program(s) of participation, title and abstract of your paper, and an estimate of costs to attend the conference (i.e. mode and cost of travel). Funding awards will be communicated two weeks after the Notre Dame student committee announces accepted papers.

Sincerely,
Amy Burrows
